Halloween Horse Costume Matching Cards Game

Last minute I threw together this fun festive matching cards set. The riders – and volunteers – really liked them!

On one side are pumpkins of all different colors that I cut out of paper:

On the other side are matching pairs of horse costume pictures I found online!:

I’m not posting a document for download for this game, because these pictures are not mine to share.

However, you can find pictures and make the matching card sets yourself! All you need to do is Google search “horse halloween costume,” click to view images (not websites), and all sorts of pictures will come up. Click on the picture you want, then click “view image” to see it full size, then right click the image and click copy. Then in a word document right click and paste the image two times. Resize the images as needed. Then print! Cut them out, put the pumpkins on the back, laminate, and cut out again. Done!

I had my riders stop at one barrel, pick a card, see the picture, bring it with them to the other barrel, and pick a card until they found the matching one. But there are lots of vartiations! They worked on remembering which card they picked, identifying if they picked a matching one, remembering where they saw the matching one the turn before, holding the reins in one hand while using the other, and steering and halting in between.

Enjoy!
